Instructors: Terry L. Choate Jr.

Terry Choate is a full-time Lt. with the Jaffrey Police Department where he has served for the past 11 years. Prior to a career change to law enforcement, Lt Choate spent over 20 years serving in Vice President and upper-level management positions in several large and Fortune 500 corporations in the areas of Sales and Marketing, and Operations Management. His passion for personal, business, and school safety; understanding those who victimize others and how/why they do so; how our minds work to make both good and bad decisions; how to influence others and the outcomes of situations; and practical and effective means and methods to solve problems associated with protecting lives started far before becoming a police officer when he was in his early teens.

He has extensive experience and associated training in illegal drugs; undercover drug work; and has been involved in numerous drug arrests, search warrants, and drug operations. Terry also has personal experience in dealing with a loved one with an addiction problem. He teaches and attempts to find solutions to the drug problem through compassion and changing the ways in which people typically see those fighting addiction diseases. ďMy passionís are safety, dealing with the out-of-control drug problem, and helping those in need. My passion for these things started well before my law enforcement career began and I have strived to thoroughly study these topics and develop a program that is engaging and will instruct others in the most common sense, practical ways to keep themselves, their families, and their businesses safe. This subject matter is not something that I became interested in only after seeing a need for these types of services due to circumstances in the world. It has always been, and remains, my daily passionĒ

"You will never hear anyone ever say, I wish I hadnít listened to my intuition or my sixth sense! What you do hear is people say, I knew something wasnít right, I didnít know what, but I knew it was something and I didnít listen to myself. TRUST YOUR INSTINCT! I am alive today because I stopped and listened to that intuition/sixth sense, it is very powerful and should not be ignored!
